Well, it finally happened.

Years after a first ill-fated attempt, and now with a new format and a much larger body of work, SoulExodus has planted it's flag in two of New York City's biggest mainstream comic book retail stores - making a total of FOUR retailers, as of the most recent website update, curently carrying The End of the World as we Know it (and counting!)

. If you are interested in a copy of SoulExodus volumes 1 or 2, are in the New York City area, and have access to any of the three stores listed above, I urge you to visit any of them and ask for it by name. The next few weeks will be crucial in terms of how far things go from here, but this is a huge step toward wider recognition. If we can make it here, we can make it anywhere.

I've been hard at work on the 3rd volume of SoulExodus, Thunder Road. On May 9th, 2009, In order to begin the inking, I did something that I did to kick off the inking of the last SoulExo volume, almost two years ago: the twenty-four hour project. For an idea of how this went the last time I publicized it on the website, here's the original 24 hour project feature.

This serves a couple of purposes: One, it's sort of a crash course for myself in the inking process, getting re-acquainted with the techniques I haven't used regularly in a year and a half (and I almost always come up with a few new ones). Two, it's a pretty cool promotional event, to get people interested in the next project. Third, it allows me to hit the ground running on this phase of production -because I'm always a little burned out by this point.

New York Comic-Con has come and gone, and SoulExodus has once again made it's impact. From free swag to scantily clad female painters (as evidenced by the above video), it was an awesome time. This year, the focus was on the debut of Live to Make Tomorrow, our 32 page SoulExo web comic compilation. To anyone who was able to attend, talk with us, and purchase a copy of any of the three SoulExo books, thank you, and I hope you enjoy and continue reading. For anyone else interested in reading, please contact me at BJC@soulexo.com anytime to buy. Deals are available for orders of multiple copies and volumes.

Shout out also goes to QPTV's Sci-Fi Ninja Theater, who've made available our interview with them for the 2008 New York Comic-Con. We'll have footage of it on our site shortly, and we've linked their website in the meantime. Thanks to Vincent Vlado and all others involved.

From here on out, the goal now becomes the completion of SoulExodus Volume 3, which will be availble to debut in October at NYCC 2010. Additionally, expect new webcomics in 09, including the next chapter of She and I, featured in Live to Make Tomorrow. We'll have frequent updates in the coming months, so keep watching the website!

Thanks

Volume One

The End of the World as we Know It

Volume Two

In The Mourning

Live to Make Tomorrow

The literal, biblical apocalypse has befallen earth at last - heaven and hell have waged savage war in our skies, with humanity in the crossfire - and ninety percent of Earth s population is wiped out in mere days as a result. But when the dust clears and the fighting ends, we are inexplicably left to pick up the pieces.

This is the story of Nephir Sol, and his quest to discover the truth about the mysterious and terrifying abilities he has been given in the wake of the fall of humanity.

The Aftermath of the apocalypse continues as Nephir Sol and his companions embark on a mission to rescue the inhabitants of a dying city from an emerging terror. Amidst the blood and violence, Neph encounters both a link to his past, and what may be a path to his future, and though he won't know which, one may very well lead to the undoing of everything he and his friends have fought for...

And perhaps much, much worse.

A collection of previously unprinted material originally appearing on soulexo.com in webcomic form, as well as the all-new story She and I, which will continue serialized on the website in 2009.
