What is Soulless?
A new and fully independent comic book series from the mind of creator, writer, and artist, Benjamin J. Colón.
The Story
The story begins with the literal, biblical Apocalypse. Death, destruction, and desolation affects every human being on earth, as Armageddon begins and angels and demons battle across the planet. Ultimately, however, the war on earth between heaven and hell comes to an end, with neither side emerging as a clear winner. Both sides retreat, having suffered massive loss, leaving earth completely decimated.
Ninety percent of the population is dead, and the remaining 600 million
people on earth are confused and scared.
The post-apocalyptic world is more the setting, however, and the first storyarc centers around a smaller central cast of characters who are drawn together by way of the protagonist, Nephir Sol (Neph), who mysteriously awakens in what's left of a church in Miami, Florida, and quickly discovers extraordinary abilities he doesn't understand. Not far away, Neph's cousin Cherylin has trekked across the country, enlisting the help of a young couple from Georgia to reach him.

Me at the counter of Comic Den in Kew Gardens, New York, with Soulless #2, on sale there. Not pictured: Janet, the camera shy store manager. Thanks for helping me out. The wait is finally over (mostly for me, I think), and the next chapter in the grand saga that is Soulless has finally reached my personal supply, which means, of course, that it is now available to all of you. The cost remains the same as issue #1, at a cost of five dollars per issue, shipping included. I'm also adding an incentive to anyone who hasn't yet got their copy of #1 - I'm offering the first two issues for 7 dollars. Hell, while I'm at it, you can order two copies of either #1 or 2 if you want, for the same price. Email me for it at BJC@soulless-online.com. Soulless #2 has also gone on sale at Comixpress.com: http://www.comixpress.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=358 So far, the reviews, though admittedly given by my regular supporters, have been quite favorable, as well.
Soulless #2 also features part of a fun and very interesting interview with Soulless #1 cover artist (and full time second coming of Chris Farley), my friend Jeff Bracey. The interview appears in it's entirety here on the site. If you're a fellow artist, or just happen to dig on the behind the scenes aspects of comics and art in general, you'll like this. A new web comic is here, story and art both by myself this time, something I hadn't planned on doing again for the website for a while, but on this particular occasion, I felt it necessary. The story takes place in the world of Soulless, in the remains of a fallen sports arena, but features a face some may recognize very well. It was my own little way of paying tribute to someone recently lost, of whom I was a rather big fan. Call it a catharsis if you want. It's just something I wanted to do. Click here for the webcomic tribute In the new year, I'll have yet another new web comic, this one decidedly different from everything you've seen so far. I hope you'll like that'n, too. Have a great Christmas, New Year, etc, everybody. I hope to make 2006 damn interesting. -B |

Chris Molinar (who was instrumental in helping me get this website jumpstarted about a year ago when I didn't know Dreamweaver from a hole in the wall) was nice enough to turn my bitter little jab at Napoleon Dynamite and turn it into a pretty cool desktop image. I'll have a new Cher image coming soon, as well - I may do a series of those cute little slogan t-shirts. Check it out in Features. |
