Mike and Yana, although still young, have been through a lot in their short lives...mostly together. Mike orphaned form his parents at a very young age, and Yana's family physically and psychologically abusive, They ran away from their troubled pasts when Yana was only thirteen. They grew up, older (and occasionally, even wiser) looking out for, and relying on only each other.

From the auto shop Mike owns on the outskirts of Atlanta, they have watched the sky fall and the earth tear itself open under the feet of gods. They believe that as long as they're together, they can weather the coming storm - god knows they've weathered worse.
